Member DiscountsMembers of PIE are eligible for a variety of discounts through group discount programs, member purchase programs, and educational discounts. Home School Legal Defense Association: HSLDA is a national level support group and legal defense resource for home schools. Members of Palmetto Independent Educators are eligible for the 15% membership discount at the reduced price of $95.00 per year when you use our Group Discount Number. Members of PIE click here. All transactions are made directly through the office of HSLDA. You may download HSLDA’s application from the following Web page, or contact the office of PIE to have one sent to you. http://www.hslda.org/join/tour5.asp South Carolina Home Educators Association: SCHEA is a state level support group. Members of Palmetto Independent Educators are eligible for the group discount with SCHEA. Beginning January 1, 2005, SCHEA membership fees have increased.
The office of PIE coordinates the application process on behalf of SCHEA and the members of PIE. SCHEA will send information concerning your membership directly to you. If you are interested in joining SCHEA, you will need to complete the following steps.
Carolina Homeschooler: A network that supports Third Option homeschoolers in South Carolina. Carolina Homeschooler invites home schools to participate in contests, courses, and projects. Members of associations that participate in the Carolina Homeschooler network are entitled to discounts toward courses. Palmetto Independent Educators is a participating association. http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com DELL Member Purchase Program: Dell invites members of Palmetto Independent Educators to participate in the Dell Member Purchase Program (MPP). Dell MPP enables members of PIE to access special discounts not available to the general public, and provides members with the best deal on a new Dell PC being purchased for home schooling use. Teacher Discounts: Each year, members of PIE are provided an acceptance letter, along with 2 membership cards, that can be used to attain teacher discounts at many bookstores. When shopping, carry your letter and cards with you and ask about discounts for teachers. Help us build a list of resources that honor teacher discounts. Academic pricing refers to products available
for purchase only by accredited K-12 and higher education institutions, faculty,
students, and home schools. Guidelines for eligibility vary from vendor to
vendor. In most cases vendors will require proof that a family is home
schooling, such as sending a copy of your acceptance letter along with a copy of
your driver’s license. Microsoft Office Tools Student and Teacher Edition 2003: Student and teacher edition is an affordable way for students and teachers to get Microsoft Office productivity tools to use at school and home. The office of PIE is providing resources through the Member Center of our Web site that will make this software useful. You can usually purchase a copy through your local Staples, or go on line to visit the academicsuperstore.com for a copy.
