PIE's
Member Center is a SharePoint team Web site. The Member Center operates best
using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape Navigator 5.0 or later,
installed on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 98 or later. Microsoft
Internet Explorer can be downloaded from the Internet for free.

SharePoint
team Web sites provide a place on the Web where different groups can communicate
and work together behind the security of a unique username/password feature.
Members can contribute to the team Web site using nothing more than their Web
browser.
The following is a list of some of the tools available through the Member
Center:
Discussion boards may be created for members discussing topics relevant to their
group.
An announcement list makes it easy for members to post news and information for
others to see.
Members have their own contacts list which includes information such as name,
address, and telephone number.
Members may check their personal calendar and update it from any computer that
is connected to the Internet.
Members may us their personal task list to keep track of projects that need to
completed.
The office of PIE will inform members of upcoming meetings, deadlines, and other
important events through the office of PIE's Calendar.
The office of PIE invites
members of PIE to visit the Member Center located on the World Wide Web. As a
member, your username will be the first 4 digits of your membership number
provided on your members’ card. Your temporary password is the last 4 digits of
your home phone number listed on your application.
When visiting the Member Center for the first time you may need to contact the
office of PIE to have your account with the Member Center activated. Members
should change their password as soon as possible to maintain security.
Members are added to the site with Contributor-level access. The description for
Contributor is "View pages and documents, view and contribute to discussions".

Files are posted through the Document Library in PDF, Word, and Excel format.
Home schools are eligible for educational discounts when purchasing a copy of
Microsoft’s Office Tools Student and Teacher Edition from their local office
supply store, such as Staples.
 A
variety of tutorials explaining different techniques for maintaining educational
records and creating printables, using Microsoft's Office Tools, are available
through the Member Center. To take full advantage of these tutorials, users will
need to have Internet Explorer 5.0, or later, and a copy of Microsoft Office
Students and Teachers Edition 2002, or later.
